FEATURED RELEASE

Bitch Boy’ by Zhariah, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The official music video (watch here) opens up with what appears to be a “peaceful conversation” between Zhariah and her boyfriend. As the video progresses, things take a steep downward spiral when he begins to talk about “women being less than men”. Rather than quietly take the backward comments, Zhariah chooses violence” to combat the denigration and embraces being an alpha female.

Bitch Boy’ lasts around three and a half minutes and sits at 75bpm. The track commences with a twelve second intro that sets the tone and builds anticipation for the verse. Zhariah’s vocal color is emotive and stylistic; seamlessly synchronizing with the ominous vibe of the instrumentation. The layering of multiple backing vocal elements adds a creative flare and depth to the overall sound without detracting from the lyrical prominence. The steady beat, powerful sub-bass and dark electronic instrumentation amalgamate to provide the perfect platform for the vocal.

The beat drops out of the mix from around 2:36 to 3:04, allowing for the vocal to take the main position in the mix; delivering just the right amount of dynamic diversity to ensure that this single is engaging from start to finish. By the time ‘Bitch Boy’ draws to a close, you’ll find yourself humming along with the catchy hook and in need of hitting that repeat button for another listen.
