ABOUT THE ARTIST
The Tristones are a three piece band consisting of Tristan Clark on guitar and lead vocals, Adam Jackson on drums, percussion and background vocals, and Gregory Jones on bass, percussion and background vocals.
After performing on the Toronto scene for a number of years, Tristan Clark made the bold decision to move to New York City in 2014. Upon arrival, Tristan reformed The Tristones alongside Adam Jackson and Gregory Jones, continuing the band’s signature blend of rock, blues, funk and jazz. The band currently have a monthly residency at New York City’s Groove.

The latest single, ‘Camaro’, by The Tristones is out now! The production of ‘Camaro’ began back in the Fall of 2018 when The Tristones commenced with their recording process in Portland, Maine. With the involvement of producer Stu Mahon, as well as guest performances from keyboardist Dylan Hemming, vocalist Camille Miller, multi-instrumentalist Tina Jones and guitarist Tristan Armstrong, this album is certainly going to be something special. The album was mixed and mastered by both Rick Salt at Mountainview Studio and Mike Beck at Refuge Recording.
When asked about the creative process behind our featured title track, ‘Camaro’, Tristan had this to say:
“I wrote that one in less than 20 minutes and couldn’t stop laughing out loud the whole way through”
Sitting at a smooth 112bpm, this blues track utilises a combination of guitar, bass, keyboard, synth and a stylistic percussion to compliment Tristan’s layered vocal line. The lyrics in the chorus, “I know I can’t afford you, but I know that you’re not for sale. I want to be inside you, but I know that you’re not for sale”, will put a smile on your face whilst also burning the melodic hook into your subconscious, resulting in many, many replays.
A melodic shift at the 2:27 mark provides a diverse and creative flare that leads into an instrumental section from 2:52 to 3:28. The prominent electric guitar solo, when accompanied by the various elements of instrumentation, amalgamates to form an epic sound.
