ABOUT THE ARTIST

Rico Blvck is an artist and songwriter from St. Maarten who is currently living in London. After years of “honing his musicality”, Rico has become the storyteller and songwriter we see today. His dream is to be “a voice for the introverted, for those who share a similar story and background”.

Rico Blvck’s Spotify discography dates back to 2018 with the single ‘Evolvin’’ and the six track EP ‘All or Nothing’. His latest single release came in 2019 with ‘Alarm’, which will be followed by June of 2020’s ‘Dreams 2 Reality’.

The new single, ‘Dreams 2 Reality’ by Rico Blvck, is out on the 19th of June on all major streaming platforms!

The single sits in at around a smooth 90bpm, beginning with a ten second introduction that creates a sense of anticipation as the key/synth instrumentation cycles through a melodic progression. The percussive beat and vocal-line commence simultaneously. Doubled vocals create a panned depth that allows the chorus to stand out in the mix. The verse implements a similar, yet more subtle delay effect throughout the track (see 0:34), adding creative flare to the rap.

A sung vocal pre-chorus kicks in at the 0:53 mark, incorporating layered male and female vocals. This section stands out from the rest of the rap and resultantly, sets the chorus up perfectly. A powerful bass-line permeates throughout the single, providing a foundational layer for the well produced instrumentation.
