Red Tan’s single release ‘Be There For You’ is OUT NOW and available to stream! 

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Red Tan’s achievements to date are expansive. She won two medals at The World Championships of Performing Arts in L.A, performed at the O2 Arena in London as a finalist in Open Mic UK, passed the Universal Studios Japan auditions, produced an EP, wrote and recorded numerous singles, featured in newspapers and online articles as well as releasing the professional music video for her lead single ‘Don’t You Dare”.

Although Red Tan has clearly developed a plethora of experience in the industry of music and performance, she has been through her fair share of struggles to get her to where she is today. 

In 2017, Red Tan lost her husband after he contracted dengue. After his passing, she was left to raise their only son. Although Red Tan took a five year hiatus from professional singing and was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety, she has managed to harness her life-experience and channel it through her music. 

With only three official releases available on Spotify, Red Tan has almost amassed seven-hundred thousand streams. Her official discography includes 2019’s ‘Don’t You Dare’ and ‘Don’t Let Go’, as well as 2020’s single ‘Be There For You’.

‘Be There For You’ is a song that Red Tan reportedly wrote for her son. Having moved to the United Kingdom to continue the development of her career in the music industry, Red Tan wrote this track alone in Southampton in April of 2019 and released it in February of this year.

The music for the track was composed by Danny Hall, from the band Little Giants, whose stylistic composition inspired Red Tan to write the lyrics in no less than thirty minutes. 

Lyrically, this track is an expression of love that Red Tan feels for her son and the strong connection she has with him: “Some friends will come and go, I will be there for you”. The melodic flow of the single follows a gentle pop rhythm that is major by nature, yet the stripped back instrumentation creates a sense of emanating emotion.

Lines like, “even though you’re far away I will be there for you”, show that although this is somewhat of a love song about a mother who cares for her son, it is also a track that deals with the painful reality of separation brought on by the distance between them. Fans of pop music that tells a real story will definitely appreciate this track.
