ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pay Day is a Hip-Hop/Rap artist originally from Chattanooga, TN. Born with a passion for songwriting, Pay Day taught himself how to record, mix and master by the tenth grade. After joining the Navy to serve his country, Pay Day now lives the life of a full-time Hip-Hop/Rap artist.
With a Spotify discography that dates back to 2018, Pay Day has an impressive collection of tracks. He has amassed nine Singles/EPs: ‘Never Fold’ (2018), ‘Shake Sumn’ (2018), ‘It’s Cool’ (2018), ‘Parked Car Conversations’ (2018), ‘Life’ (2018), ‘Push To Start’ (2018), ‘On to the Next’ (2019), ‘Mood Today’ (2019) and ‘Guardian Angels’ (2020), as well as two complete albums: ‘Born for This’ (2019) and ‘Pay Attention’ (2019). From the plethora of original content, Pay Day’s tracks have been featured on radio stations across the states.

Directed by CLD Visuals, the new music video consists of a variety of creative shots that feature Pay Day rapping the lyrics of his track. A number of layered visual effects are systematically filtered into the video, adding a personal creative quality to the production. From the destruction of an old television, to Pay Day falling asleep surrounded by money bags beside a Tesla, this new video portrays Pay Day at his best.

Our featured single, ‘Mood Today’ by Pay Day, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! ‘Mood Today’ is the seventh track on the twelve track album ‘Pay Attention’. Lasting around thirty-eight minutes, this Hip-Hop/Rap album showcases the diversity of Pay Day’s creative talent; from the powerful freeform style of ‘Gangsta (Freestyle)’ to the instrumental creativity of ‘Pay Attention (Intro)’.
‘Mood Today’ is a two minute forty four second single that sits at a smooth 140bpm. The track commences with a thirteen second instrumental introduction that utilises a prominent wind section, adding a sense of anticipation to the tone. The percussive beat, sub-bass and main rap, amalgamate to form a creative Hip-Hop sound that is unique to Pay Day. The subtle inclusion of an additional vocal line allows for synchronised, yet seemingly spontaneous, backing vocal statements which add to the intensity of the lyrical flow.
A point of stylistic creative expression can be found from 2:17 to the end. Here we find that the main rap is effected to create a tone that is less prominent in the mix. The instrumentation gradually takes the dominant position, with a diminuendo-styled ending embracing a reversion to the original compositional setup found at the beginning of the introduction.
