ABOUT THE ARTIST
Oliks Omoba, also known as Lawal Omobolaji Akano Akoringbade, is a fast rising artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2018. The Nigerian born AfroPop singer/songwriter has always had a natural affinity for music composition; beginning his career on the streets of Ebute-metta, Lagos at a young age and eventually becoming a professional musician by 2010.
Although he receives creative inspiration from a number of artists such as 9Ice, Wyclef Jean, Beautiful Nubia and 2Face Idibia, Oliks Omoba combines a variety of compositional elements to form his unique sound. After he dropped his first two singles, ‘Seju Lara Baba Remix’ and ‘Labon’Dan’, Oliks Omoba’s music gained acceptance in the Nigerian music scene and received airplay on Radio, TV and online.
Oliks Omoba has received a number of awards for his music over the years including: Best Music Act 2011 (Mozik Model Agency), Best Hip Hop Act 2019 (Otitoloju Film Production), and multiple nominations in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry.
To date, Oliks Omoba has six singles in his Spotify discography. Some of his most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Belenje’, ‘Edegbe (Freestyle)’, and ‘Shana’, which received “about 500,000 streams within a period of there weeks on all platforms and is still enjoying massive airplay on major Radio Stations across Africa”. With almost six thousand followers on Instagram alone, there is no denying the fact that Oliks Omoba is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured EP, ‘AfroNansa EP’ by Oliks Omoba, is to be released on the 27th of January and will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP lasts around twenty-seven minutes and consists of eight tracks:
‘Alo (Riddles)’, ‘Kowale’, ‘Messiah’, ‘Bamidele ft Nues’, ‘Gan Ni’, ‘Shana’, ‘Belenje ft Mohbad, Deola Wambi’, and ‘Double Double’.
Although the EP is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a diverse range of compositional elements that showcase Oliks Omoba’s songwriting talent; from the rhythmic percussion and smooth vocal color of ‘Alo (Riddles)’, the creatively panned vocal layers and memorable melodic progression of ‘Messiah’, to the atmospheric synth, foundational keys and seamlessly synchronised lyricism of ‘Gan Ni’.
