ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mike Allen is an up and coming singer/songwriter who burst onto the music scene back in 2003 with his debut album. Having always had an interest in music, Mike began playing guitar and bass in his teens and went on to write his own music for the next twenty-years; honing his craft as a songwriter before releasing his original music out into the world. Drawing from his own life experiences, Mike’s music “generally comes from a darker place, tending to be equal parts therapeutic and creative”. Refusing to be boxed in by specific genre expectations, Mike Allen amalgamates various elements from a variety of genres to produce his original sound.
To date, Mike Allen has two EPs and two albums available to stream in his online discography. Some of his most popular tracks include the likes of ‘More in Common With the Dog’, ‘Stares of the Lost’, and ‘New Bliss’. With almost one thousand regular monthly listeners on Spotify alone, it’s fair to say that Mike Allen is steadily building his following of loyal fans who will definitely love his latest EP.

Although the album is technically categorised under the genre classification of Alternative, each track delivers a diverse expression of Mike’s creative compositional talent; from the stylistically effected vocal color, eclectic instrumental layers and rhythmic percussion of ‘More in Common With the Dog’, the ominous melodic flow, intense synth progression and powerfully driven section that kicks in from around the 3:19 mark in ‘The Vast’, to the atmospheric production and captivatingly immersive effects of ‘Parallels’.
