ABOUT THE ARTIST

Melahnin is a Hip-Hop, Trap and Afrobeats producer and DJ who is currently based in the UK. Having previously lived in Greece until he was eighteen years old, Melahnin’s interest in creating music began at around fourteen when he “dug out an old dusty turntable from his mums attic”. He went on to sample old records into cassette tapes; blending a variety of beats/loops from sample CDs and recording them onto a separate tape to complete the process of producing his own work.

After spending years honing his craft, Melahnin established his own record label: Kefi Records. He derived the name from the Greek translation that means ‘the spirit of joy, passion and euphoria’. Melahnin is set to release his debut single, ‘Make Me Feel’, later this month, featuring the solo London based singer and producer YinYang in addition to the Orlando based MC and lyricist Tay Edwards.
