ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mel Maryns is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2017. Having always had a natural affinity for music, Mel was initially inspired by her dad who played the guitar and sang with her. She went on to teach herself the piano by watching music videos and began writing her own songs.
After deciding to take up busking in 2018 on Saint Patrick’s Street, Cork and Grafton street in Dublin, Mel has gradually honed her talent through live performance. Although she receives creative inspiration from a number of artists such as Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row and Evanescence, Mel Maryns combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique sound.
“My music has that “pop” rock style. I love to rock out. My music is like my brain, my feelings, so everything that I feel I put it into lyrics and melodies. I love to write my own music.”
To date, Mel Maryns has four singles in her online discography. Some of her most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Burning Flames’, amassing twenty-four thousand streams, ‘Someone to Hold’, gathering over seventeen thousand streams, and ‘Fala Sério’, with over eleven thousand streams.
