ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marvo Fivestarsz is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2016. The Peckham based MC has always had a natural affinity for music; honing his craft over the years with his “infectious energy and incredible presence in the room”. Marvo Fivestarsz has also a number of accolades to his name, including R.B. Entertainment’s Most Valuable Performer award.
Initially inspired by his mother, after she introduced him to ‘90s R&B music, Marvo Fivestarsz went on to combine a variety of compositional elements to form his unique sound. After the passing of his mother in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marvo has dedicated the rest of his career to her memory.
To date, Marvo Fivestarsz has eleven singles/EPs in his online discography. Some of his most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Without (Chinwe)’, amassing almost eleven thousand seven hundred streams, ‘Frozen’, gathering over seven thousand eight hundred streams, and ‘No Colours’, with over four thousand one hundred streams.
With more than two thousand two hundred regular monthly listeners on Spotify alone, there is no denying the fact that Marvo Fivestarsz has developed a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured EP, ‘Art of Pain’ by Marvo Fivestarsz, is to be released on the 5th of March and will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP consists of five tracks:
‘Pain Cells’, ‘Frozen’, ‘Without (Chinwe)’, ‘One Time feat OB.VS (Gbaa Egwu)’, and ‘No Excuses’.
The opening track on the EP, ‘Pain Cells’, lasts two minutes and sits in at around 61bpm. The song commences with a fifteen second instrumental introduction that features a melodic piano progression; setting the tone for the main vocal. Marvo Fivestarsz’s vocal color is clean and emotive, seamlessly synchronising with the flow of the instrumental accompaniment.
The beat kicks in at the 0:31 mark and drives the overall rhythmic intensity. The addition of a subtle backing vocal, check out 0:49 to 1:03, delivers just the right amount of dynamic diversity without detracting from the prominence of the impressive lyricism. By the time this track draws to a close, you’ll find yourself humming along with the hook and in need of hitting that repeat button for another listen.
Although the EP is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a wide range of compositional elements that showcase Marvo Fivestarsz’s songwriting talent; from the rhythmic beat and catchy hook of ‘Frozen’, the atmospheric synth that provides the perfect platform for the stylistically effected vocal line of ‘Without (Chinwe)’, to the eclectic instrumental layering and systematic implementation of harmonised backing vocals in ‘No Excuses’.
