ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marcus Miles is an up and coming singer-songwriter and producer who burst onto the streaming scene in 2019. The Orange County based artist began his venture into the music industry when he started working with producer/artist/manager Thomas Barsoe who in turn introduced Marcus to different artists from Denmark such as Rasmus Thude, Basim and Simone Engeriis.
Marcus’ career officially began in 2018 when he was working on his album with the likes of Peter Madana, JetPak and Nebuluv, whilst also negotiating a record deal with the successful Denmark based label Nexus Music. After suffering a “life changing accident” at the end of 2018, Marcus was on bed rest for ten months; providing him with the time needed to reaffirm his love for music and passion for songwriting. With over three hundred songs in his personal archive, Marcus Miles’ success has only just begun.
To date, Marcus Miles has two singles/EPs and one remixed track in his online discography. With songs like of ‘Hold Up’, amassing fifty-two thousand streams, ‘Go With It - Marcus Miles Remix’, gathering over twenty-thousand streams, and with more than eighteen thousand four hundred regular monthly listeners on Spotify alone, there is no denying the fact that Marcus Miles has developed a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured single, ‘Wise Up’ by Marcus Miles, is to be released soon and will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The single lasts three minutes and fifty-seven seconds and sits at a steady 66bpm. ‘Wise Up’ was written/performed by Marcus and produced/recorded by Peter Madana. When asked what the song was about, Marcus Miles had this to say:
“The song is mainly about self-love...going through a toxic relationship and coming out on the other side with understanding for both sides. There are always three sides to the story; your story, my story, and what actually happened. But it’s not about that, it’s about how the love we need first is from ourselves and making sure we keep that in mind in every relationship we get into...a positive break-up song if you will.”
The track commences with a thirteen second introduction that features an clean electric guitar progression; setting the melodic tone for the proceeding verse. The instigation of the smooth percussive beat drives the rhythmic intensity of the instrumentation without detracting from the smooth vibe. The stylistic saxophone riff adds the perfect amount of dynamic diversity to the catchy melody. Marcus’ vocal color is clean and emotive; seamlessly synchronising with the flow of the instrumental accompaniment.
The addition of an imitated lower octave vocal line (check out 2:42 to 2:55) provides a creative flare and depth to the overall sound without taking away from the prominence of the main vocal line.
