Luke Spillane is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2016. Although he receives creative inspiration from a number of artists such as Aphex Twin and The Happy Mondays, Luke Spillane combines a variety of compositional elements to form his unique sound. The rising artist is currently planning a UK tour with his upcoming album 'Beating It', which is set to drop on the 12th of March this year.

The single lasts thirteen minutes and sits in at around 126bpm. While street performing, Luke noticed some of his friends begging rather than performing; inspiring him to write the track ‘Turning Away’ about “overcoming the problematic life of poverty”.

The track commences with a sixteen second introductory section that gradually builds each layer of instrumentation; using the crescendo to create anticipation for the vocal line. The main vocal kicks in at the 0:17 mark and is subtly filtered into the mix; synchronising with the intense instrumentation.
Although the vocal effects remain relatively consistent, a vocoder sounding element is dropped in around the nine minute mark and adds a depth to the overall sound of the instrumentation. The repetition of the fast paced synth riff, combined with the emotive vocal color and rhythmic percussion form a hypnotic trance like flow that will immerse you in a world of Luke Spillane’s compositional creativity.
