ABOUT THE ARTIST
Los Courtside, also known as Carlos Courtnaye, began his music career in a completely unexpected manor that reveals his authentic calling to the music industry. Lying in a hospital bed, potentially days away from dying, he made a promise to God that he would do everything he could to push his passion for songwriting and the creation of original music.
“I made a promise to God and myself that if I get out of this hospital I will do everything to make this music shit work.”
Having previously released music under the title ‘Dab Papi’, Los Courtside recognised that he wasn’t consistent enough to achieve the goals that he set for himself to develop the momentum required to establish his artistic brand. After being release from hospital, Los Courtside produced his first project, ‘25’, in February of 2020. Pushing the boundaries of genre classification, he amalgamated his contemporary rap routes with a more alternative Hip-Hop/RnB style; creating a sound that is unique and original.
Although he had successfully lived-up to the promise that he made to God and to himself, Los Courtside didn’t receive the traction that he had hoped for. Rather than give up, he made the bold decision to embody the new title ‘Los Courtside’; a play on his first name Carlos Courtnaye. From the nineteenth of June, Courtside began releasing a new track every Friday, proving to the world that he can “release high quality music at a rapid pace”.
Los Courtside currently has three tracks available to stream in is Spotify discography: ‘Jump!’, ‘Yktv’ and ‘Different’. With ‘Yktv’ amassing over seven thousand streams and ‘Jump!’ gathering over five and a half thousand streams, it’s fair to say that Los Courtside is developing a loyal fanbase as his streaming success continues to rapidly increase.
