ABOUT THE ARTIST
Coming out of Brooklyn in the United States, LongliveMoses has been on the music map since mid-2018 with his first single release ‘FellinLove’ which achieved over seven-thousand streams on Spotify. He has since amassed over one-hundred and thirty-thousand streams on Spotify alone. LongliveMoses has a growing discography which includes 2018’s ‘FellinLove’, ‘Ships Sail’ and ‘Finer Things’, as well as 2019’s ‘#Qb’.
Similar to his success on the Spotify scene, LongliveMoses has also managed to gather over twenty-one thousand plays on SoundCloud and over forty-nine thousand collective views on his YouTube channel.

Our featured release, ‘Ships Sail’, is purportedly his most successful track to date with over eighty-thousand streams on Spotify and over sixteen-thousand views for the YouTube audio/video release. When we asked LongliveMoses where the inspiration came for writing this track he had this to say:
“It’s a beginning of a journey song were I talk about always being ready for war…pretty much whatever comes…and thanking the people that helped me get to this point in my life”
The track sits at a smooth 80bpm and begins with a light-beat before the bass and main beat kick in at around the 0:27 mark. Stylistically, the track isn’t over-processed with unnecessary instrumentation.
The kick/bass combination with two gently panned melodic riffs create a solid foundation for LongliveMoses to use his vocal tone to diversify from verse to chorus. At around 1:41 there is a slight breakdown for a spoken word which is quickly followed by the instigation of the beat and rap.
Lyrically, the track is a reflection for LongliveMoses as he looks back, thankful for those who have helped him develop as an artist and yet, he acknowledges the attitude required to maintain the lifestyle of a hip-hop/rap artist and the burden of continually searching for a high through success: “Ships sail always, ready for a war…I feel a high but I think I need more”.
