ABOUT THE ARTIST
With fourteen albums to her credit, Lily Frost has a plethora of experience in the music industry. Commencing her career with the group The Sheiks, comprised of John Davis and Bobby Beaton from The Gruesomes, Lily moved to Vancouver and led the way for the popular Blue Lizard Scene with her band The Colorifics.
Lily went on to release a solo album with Nettwerk Records, after which she returned to her hometown of Toronto back in 2001. Releasing seven albums with Aporia Records and Publishing, Lily Frost had her songs featured in both television and film including the likes of Grey’s Anatomy, Chevy Cobalt, Workin’ Moms and Charmed Felicity.
From achieving a Gemini Nomination for her co-writing contribution for the hit TV show Being Erica, to co-writing for projects that include DreamSpeed, Desert Diamond and Sky Machine, Lily’s songwriting talents have continued to flourish over the past number of years.

Lily Frost has released an eleven track album coming in at a clean thirty-four minutes. ‘Retro-Moderne’ is Lily’s first creative contribution to the Pop genre as the owner of her own label, resultantly allowing her to obtain full creative control. After hearing the contribution of producer Gus Van Go on Whitehorse, Jill Barber and Matt Mays, Lily knew that he was her first choice producer for the album.

Embracing elements of the sixties, ‘Retro-Moderne’ is the perfect title for an album that brings a timeless style into 2020. From the spaghetti western guitars and girl-group layered vocals of ‘Cruel World (Nickel & Dime)’, to the powerful bass and plethora of expertly effected instrumentation in ‘Lay Low’, this album is filled with a dynamically diverse range of hit tracks. Lily’s incredibly unique vocal color coupled with Gus Van Go’s producing expertise has created arguably Lily’s best work.
Having already charted #38 in Sweden’s iTunes Top 200, the National Top 50 for Earshot Magazine and being added to Outliers Spotify playlist, it is hard not to imagine that such critical acclaim has created enormous momentum for Lily Frost.
