ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lace is a Neo-Soul project that is based in Los Angeles, California and India. The group is comprised of four musicians who combine a variety of genres to create their unique sound; including the likes of “Neo-Soul, Southern Indian inspired grooves, and Jazz”. Their debut EP has been described as a collaboration of stories that are expressed through “humour and experimentation”,
Although their debut EP was just released in May of 2020, the band have already amassed an impressive number of streams: ‘Liar Liar (Feat. Emi Desiré)’ with almost twenty-nine thousand streams, and ‘Remember’ with over sixteen thousand streams. With numbers like that, it’s fair to say that Lace are thoroughly establishing themselves as a group to keep an eye on over the course of 2020.

Our featured EP, ‘Liar's Notebook’ by Lace, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP consists of four tracks and lasts around sixteen minutes.
The opening track, ‘Liar Liar (Feat. Emi Desiré)’, lasts five minutes and three seconds and sits at a steady 88bpm. The single commences with a twenty-three second instrumental introduction that combines a rhythmic percussive layer with soulful electric guitar/bass elements kicking in around the twelve second mark; setting the melodic tone for the proceeding verse. The vocal color is smooth and effortless, seamlessly synchronising with the flow of the instrumental accompaniment. With a plethora of creative compositional elements permeating throughout (check out the scat section from 1:13 to 1:17), the memorable melodic hook will unquestionably have you streaming this track again and again.
