ABOUT THE ARTIST
La Trice Perry is an up and coming music producer/artist who burst onto the streaming scene this year. Having always had a natural affinity for music, La Trice Perry has honed her craft over the years; DJing for more than a decade.
Even with her plethora of experience in the music industry, La Trice Perry was a “closet music producer” for at least eleven of her twelve years performing. After the pandemic shook up the live music industry across the globe, La Trice Perry felt that now was the time to get her original music out into the world.
A key motivating factor that pushed the rising music producer to back herself was “escaping an abusive relationship”, which inevitably left her “homeless, stranded, and broken hearted in a foreign country with no resources - in the middle of a pandemic”. Through this adversity, La Trice Perry became even more driven for achieving success in the music industry.
Although La Trice Perry has a background in House Music, she combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique and authentic sound. With a growing number of followers and listeners, there is no denying the fact that La Trice Perry is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.
FEATURED RELEASE
Our featured EP, ‘304’ by La Trice Perry, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP consists of six tracks and lasts around twenty-seven minutes. The title of the release comes from La Trice Perry’s feeling that the numbers have haunted her for years:
“If I look at the clock it’s 3:04, if I see a sequence of changing numbers it’s 304, my receipt will be 304, my room number 304... it’s crazy. Even people that are around me have noticed it as well. The energy or feeling around seeing the number is neutral. Nothing good, nor bad, nor significant has ever happened when I see the number.
...doing some personal research over the years and some people call seeing numbers repeatedly ‘angel numbers’. I have come to the conclusion that seeing 304 is sort of serendipitous. Reassurance that something, a moment, or experience is meant to happen. That things are aligned and I am on the right path. Maybe even a symbolic hug from ancestors or a guardian angel. Who knows?
By naming my first release 304 is sort of an acknowledgement. Like a response to a universal energy to say thank you for being there and helping me along, I see you and I am going to do what I need to do to be successful and move forward’.”
Although the EP is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a diverse range of compositional elements that showcase La Trice Perry’s songwriting talent; from the catchy hook and creatively effected vocal layers that seamlessly synchronise with the flow of the instrumentation in ‘Hi Mofo’, the rhythmic percussion, memorable melodic progression and foundational bass that provide the perfect platform for the stylistic vocals of ‘Release the Pressure’, to the dynamic variety of instrumental elements that amalgamate to form the hypnotic and immersive experience of ‘Testify’.
Now that her debut EP is out and available to stream, this is definitely just the beginning for La Trice Perry with an impressive amount of original songs in-line for future releases:
“I have 100s of tracks that I’ve produced over the years...I have releases pre-planned for the rest of the year.”
