ABOUT THE ARTIST
KoKou Kah is a twenty-six year old Afro-Fusion artist who is a Liberian, Guinean and American citizen and currently lives in Minnesota. To date, KoKou Kah has released one single ‘Twin Flame’ (2020), and one EP ‘Nefi’ (2020); consisting of three singles: ‘Monrovia Rose’, ‘Atmosphere’ and our featured track ‘Best Friend’. He was also featured on the 2018 single ‘Bonified’ by Marquette.

Our featured single, ‘Best Friend’ by KoKou Kah, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The single lasts three minutes and fourteen seconds and sits at a smooth 94bpm. The track commences with a twenty second instrumental introduction that sets the melodic tone for the proceeding verse that consists of gentle percussion and an ambient keys section.
The first verse kicks in at the 0:20 mark and utilises a stylistic beat that gradually increases the intensity of the instrumentation. Around forty seconds in, the chorus instigates with a rhythmic bass line; creating a foundational sound that adds depth to the mix. KoKou Kah’s vocal color is relaxed whilst also maintaining the melodic flow. Various shifts in the stylistic pattern create diversity within the single, resultantly engaging the listener and adding to the partial pre-chorus crescendo (check out 2:13 to 2:22).
