ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kev, Just Kev has been releasing music for just over one year and is beginning to establish himself in 2020. After overcoming the feeling that he “wasn’t good enough or that [he] wouldn’t be able to develop” the sound that he was searching for, Kev, Just Kev continued to push through the doubt and hone his creative talents; resulting in the development of his debut EP. With the goal of encouraging others through his music, Kev, Just Kev had this to say about the upcoming EP:
“It promotes positivity for those who struggle with day to day challenges, to hopefully uplift those who are down.”
To date, Kev, Just Kev has three releases in is online discography that are currently available to stream on Spotify: ‘Talkin Bout’ (2020), ‘[Insert Name Here]’ (2020), and our featured EP ‘Amethyst’ (2020). Some of his most successful tracks to date include the likes of ‘Eight 0 Eight’, amassing over five and a half thousand streams, ‘[Insert Name Here]’, gathering almost six thousand streams, and ‘Talkin Bout’ with over three thousand streams on Spotify alone. Keeping in mind the fact that Kev, Just Kev has only released music from the start of 2020, it’s fair to say that he has steadily developed a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured EP, ‘Amethyst’ by Kev, Just Kev, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The album lasts around seventeen minutes and consists of six tracks: ‘Aura’, ‘K2h’, ‘Eight 0 Eight’, ‘Tiramisu’, ‘Room’, and ‘Amethyst’.
The title track, ‘Amethyst’, is the sixth and final track on the EP. It lasts three minutes and fifty-six seconds and sits at a steady 115bpm. The single commences with a twenty second introduction that combines multiple clean electric guitars that are stylistically panned to create an atmospheric effect; setting the tone for the proceeding verse. A short spoken word precedes the main vocal line that kicks in at the 0:20 mark. Kev, Just Kev’s vocal color is clean and emotive; seamlessly synchronising with the smooth melodic flow of the instrumentation. The systematic addition of layered vocals, check out 0:49, add a depth to the sound that reflects Kev, Just Kev’s unique and authentic compositional style.
