ABOUT THE ARTIST
J.Knawxledge is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2021. Having always had a natural affinity for music, J.Knawxledge has gradually honed his craft over the years as a lyricist and songwriter. Although he receives creative inspiration from a number of styles, J.Knawxledge combines a variety of compositional elements to form his unique sound.

Our featured EP, ‘Black's The New Dead’ by J.Knawxledge, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP consists of five tracks and lasts around nine and a half minutes. The EP was inspired by “the tragic events African Americans face daily”:
“Throughout history, we have been systematically oppressed by governmental power to confuse us with turbulence. Such as what’s on the news, money, political parties, entertainment, man-made diseases in amerrikka and excessive force of aggression by law enforcement across the world. My goal is to aim and address the issues of race inequalities concerning the Amerikka policing system, which has and continues to employ brutality and excessive force on Black Minority groups. Black is beautiful, black is blessed, black is more and most importantly, BLACK IS ALIVE!”
Although ‘Black's The New Dead’ is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a diverse range of compositional elements that showcase J.Knawxledge’s songwriting talent; from the rhythmic beat, foundational bass and creatively panned instrumental layers that provide the perfect platform for the seamlessly synchronized vocal line of ‘What’s on the news’, the catchy hook, dynamic lyricism and soulful backing vocals of ‘Black Star Kweli’, to the eclectic instrumental arrangement and stylistic spoken word that delivers the powerful message of ‘BLACK IS ALIVE’.
