ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jay Fred is an up and coming Indie Hip-Hop artist who is originally from New Roads, Louisiana outside of Baton Rouge. Jay grew up with parents who both struggled with illness. As a result, he was raised in a foster home with his two siblings. Inspired by artists that included the likes of Lil Wayne, Jay Fred set his sights on emulating their success in the music industry.
After spending years honing his craft, Jay Fred now writes and produces his own unique style of versatile Hip-Hop fusion. The multi-talented artist plays his own instrumentation, including guitar and piano, in addition to shooting his own music videos. Seeking to create an authentic and original sound, Jay, “prides himself on creating a sound not confined to one music genre”. To date, Jay Fred has three albums in is online discography: ‘Departure’ (2018), ‘Ascending’ (2018), and ‘Arrived’ (2019). His next single: ‘In My Bag’ is set for release this September.
In addition to his impressive collection of original material, Jay has also cultivated a successful YouTube Channel which has amassed almost one hundred and twenty thousand collective views. Jay Fred has performed shows in the likes of Atlanta, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas and will be featured in an upcoming collaborative project with emerging Louisiana based artists; including Joe Scott, Tweeday, GeauxYella, Doodie Savage and Shon Thang.
