ABOUT THE ARTIST
Originally from Louisiana, Jason Dowd grew up listening to the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Otis Redding and The Dobbie Brothers whilst on family road trips throughout his youth. Although inspired by these artists, Jason’s own sound differs greatly from this particular genre. His style produces tracks that are described as songs “of healing, expression and compassion that are fiercely independent and hard to classify”.
Jason’s hometown contributed significantly to his unique style as he found inspiration from “the hauntingly quiet nights in the woods…to the local fire pit grills that become the place of connection and reflection”. Having recently moved to Los Angeles, California, Jason is currently spending his time on an isolated ranch in Wyoming during the cover-19 global pandemic, where he is utilising the time of isolation to “create a sound that cultivates an atmosphere for others to express, feel and be true”.

The ambient instrumentation is systematically panned to create an auditory experience that sends the listener into a world of Jason Dowd’s own creation. The vocal color is clean and emotive with moments of intensity that parallel particular instrumentational builds.
Jason’s utilisation of layered vocals creates a depth to the vocal section that is unique and a pleasure to listen to. A particular point of creative flare can be found at 1:40-1:45 and 3:25-3:30 where a plethora of harmonised layers build to a crescendo with no additional instrumentation, creating a drop that adds to the intensity of the epic chorus that follows.
