ABOUT THE ARTIST
Glass Cases is a rising band who burst onto the streaming scene in 2018. The trio, comprised of Austin, Alex and Cameron, have already accumulated a plethora of accolades; winning the popular vote to play the Taste of Fort Collins Music Festival in 2020, and receiving airplay from multiple radio stations. Although they receive creative inspiration from a number of genres such as pop and synth rock, Glass Cases combine a variety of compositional elements to form their unique sound.
To date, Glass Cases have one album and seven singles/EPs in their online discography. Some of their most popular tracks include the likes of ‘In Between’, amassing fifty-thousand streams, ‘Addiction’, gathering over fifteen thousand streams, and ‘Growing Up’, with over eleven thousand two hundred streams. The single lasts around three and a half minutes and was written about “inner conflict and mental health”, with the abandoned gas station in the music video representing “internal conflict”. The track commences with a two second introductory section that features a synth which swells into a crescendo; building anticipation for the verse.
The vocal color is clean and stylistic; seamlessly synchronising with the eclectic percussive patterns. The implementation of subtle effects, such as the fading vocal delay from 1:18 to 1:21, adds a depth to the overall sound without detracting from the memorable melody.
