Erin Coburn’s latest eleven track release ‘Out From Under’ is out now!
Erin’s powerful vocals coupled with her skilful guitar playing blend both rock and blues to form an unquestionably unique style that feels both completely current, yet reminiscent of classic blues/rock.
Having already performed with Grammy Award winning artists in Nashville, played at multiple festivals across the United States including the Milwaukee Summerfest and King Biscuit Blues Festival, Erin has had a plethora of performing experience from a young age.
With two albums already under her belt (Chaos Before Conformity // Queen of Nothing) Erin has made a clear stylistic shift from her creative blues roots and evolved her songwriting to create a unique style incapsulated by edgier lyrics, strong guitar solos and a little bit of humour to lift the listener.
Our featured track ‘Fast Paced & Freakish’ from Erin’s latest release (Out From Under) begins with a solo riff that sets an dark yet energetic mood before the instigation of the bass, vocals and percussion that force the listener to move with the rhythmic tempo. A distorted shift later in the chorus, with the addition of more percussive symbols, initiates a hard rock shift in the track that keeps the listener captivated by the melodic progression.
At around the 1:42 mark, a drop in the instrumentation to solo electric guitar creates a sense of strong anticipation as the instrumentation incrementally builds to a final chorus that utilises backing vocals to add to the fullness of the sound.
Overall, this track has just the right amount of stylistic progression to keep the listener nodding their head for three minutes straight with the melodic line in the chorus ‘where did my time go’ embedding itself deep within the listeners subconscious. If this track is anything to go by, this album will most definitely be a fan favourite for blues/rock fans.
Erin has already been nominated for Best Blues Artist in 2017 at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, Young Adult Artist of the Year in 2018 at the Josie Awards and has opened shows for the likes of The Marcus King Band, The Accidentals, Larry McCray, Thornetta Davis, and Three Dog Night. Erin Coburn is undeniably a musical force to be reckoned with.
