Devon Worley Band - 'No Fool'

ABOUT THE BAND
The Devon Worley Band is a four piece country band consisting of lead singer Devon Worley (vocals/guitar/piano), Jason Medvec (guitars/vocals), Adam Durand (bass/vocals) and Grant Thelen (drums/vocals/harmonica/trumpet). At 22, Devon Worley and her band have an impressive discography which includes their 2013 ICMA award winning debut album and their 2017 follow up ‘Sunrise Resistance’.
The upcoming single ‘No Fool’ is featured in a new five-song EP titled ‘Teatime for Thieves’. With an ever increasing following of dedicated fans from the United States as well as in the United Kingdom, the band’s new EP is highly anticipated and will most definitely please their many fans which number at over one-hundred and thirteen thousand likes on Facebook alone.

Our featured single, ‘No Fool’, is the first single to be released from the upcoming EP ‘Teatime for Thieves’. Recorded in Nashville, the track sits in at around 118bpm and begins with a guitar section held by a high-hat that builds gently, with the instigation of the bass-line that accompanies Devon’s powerful vocals. The first chorus commences at around the 0:50 mark and utilises perfectly mixed backing harmony lines that allow Devon’s excellent vocal performance to take centre-stage whilst also creating a depth and fullness to the track.
A stand out section within this track is definitely the bridge section from 2:28 to 2:44. The melody shifts utilising rhythmic pushes that intensify the tone, allowing Devon to take the phrase “No Fool” and show-off her incredible vocal range mixed with an epic country/rock vocal color in an improvisational style that is an epic representation of her talent and skill as a vocalist.
Although the band is technically categorised as country, it’s hard too deny that their country-rock style widens the band’s reach significantly with the stylistic approach of their new EP embracing their rockier roots and opening the door to an ever growing fan base that will absolutely love what their producing in both their live performances, as well as in the studio.
