ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chris Kelly is a well established singer/songwriter who released his first track on SoundCloud, ‘Sundown Lady’, two years ago. Having spent the majority of his life playing music, the UK based artist has cultivated a plethora of experience in the music industry. From releasing two albums with his band The Scooters, to getting signed by the LA record label Aeronaut Records, Chris has had multiple tracks used by MTV and BBC productions in addition to featuring in various commercials.

After the death of his close friend and singer Anthony Carey, Chris made the decision to take a step back from the music industry. After a “recent creative explosion”, Chris is back with new and original solo material. Inspired to write about serious subject matter such as “depression, drug abuse, love and narcissism”, Chris Kelly’s unique sound reflects his authentic songwriting and undeniable experience as a professional musician.

Our featured EP, ‘The Last Place You've Been’ by Chris Kelly, is to be released on the 1st of December and will be available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The EP consists of five tracks: ‘Iron Skin’, ‘Letter To Myself’, ‘Mother’s Medicine’, ‘Password’, and ‘Beautiful Ways’.

Although the EP is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a diverse range of melodic elements that showcase Chris Kelly’s compositional talent; from the smooth vocal layering and catchy melodic hook of ‘Iron Skin’, the upbeat rhythmic intensity, impressive vocal color and seamlessly synchronised lyricism of ‘Letter To Myself’, the smooth combination of the piano, acoustic guitar and ambient strings in ‘Mother’s Medicine’, the dynamic diversity provided by the lead guitar solo and the creative implementation of the harmonised backing vocals in ‘Password’, to the emotive vocal performance and ballad styled instrumental flow of ‘Beautiful Ways’.
