ABOUT THE ARTIST
Cat Kinson is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene this year. Having always had a natural affinity for music, Cat Kinson honed her craft over the years to become the artist that she is today. With an extensive music library dating back to the early 2000s, Cat made the decision to “branch out” and make her own beats/background music to capture her authentic creativity. Although she receives creative inspiration from a number of genres, Cat Kinson combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique sound.
To date, Cat Kinson has one EP in her online discography: ‘All Fun, No Games’. With a growing number of followers and listeners, there is no denying the fact that Cat Kinson is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans. Cat is set to continue building momentum with a number of additional projects in the line to be released this year.

The opening track on the EP, ‘So You Thought’, lasts just shy of three minutes and sits at a steady 110bpm. The song commences with a seventeen second introductory section that established the melody and sets the tone for the other instrumental layers that are gradually added into the mix; slowing building the fullness of the sound whilst also providing a creative flare to the arrangement.
The bongos systematically drop out of the mix, check out 1:18 to 1:27 and 1:35 to 1:53, delivering just the right amount of dynamic diversity to ensure that this track is engaging from start to finish. By the time ‘So You Thought’ draws to a close, you’ll find yourself humming along with the catchy riff and in need of hitting that repeat button for another listen.
Although ‘All Fun, No Games’ is technically grouped under one genre classification, each track delivers a diverse range of compositional elements that showcase Cat Kinson’s songwriting talent; from the seamlessly synchronized ethereal synth layers that provide the warm depth of ‘American Zaria’, the dynamic percussive panning that combines with the memorable melodic progression to form the immersive experience of ‘Imperial Park’, to the rhythmic beat, powerful bass-line and stylistic electric guitars of ‘70s Hot Skates’.
