FEATURED RELEASE
Our featured single, ‘Rolling Thunder’ by By Small Ruin, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The single lasts three minutes and twenty seconds and sits at 94bpm. When it comes to the lyricism, ‘Rolling Thunder’ is about:
“...a deep infatuation relationship I had where it was all encompassing – especially at the beginning. After a short time, I was convinced that I could not live without this girl. It’s scary when you get to that point – to realize how much power your partner has to make or break your world with their actions. ”
‘Rolling Thunder’ commences with a ten second introduction that combines a steady percussion, foundational bass and an ambient electric guitar progression; setting the tone for the proceeding verse. The vocal color is clean and stylistic, seamlessly synchronising with the flow of the instrumental accompaniment.
The systematic implementation of a harmonised backing vocal layer adds a depth to the overall sound, without detracting from the prominence of the main melody. The powerful percussion drives the rhythmic intensity of the single and partially drops out from 2:13 to 2:32; allowing for a prominence to be placed on the lyricism, whilst also delivering just the right amount of dynamic diversity that ensures the track is engaging from start to finish.
From the well balanced production and creative compositional arrangement, to the authentic vocal performance, fans of By Small Ruin, as well as those who appreciate new and creative music, will definitely want to hear this single.
