ABOUT THE ARTIST
Blankiflur, also known as Inga Birna Friðjónsdóttir, is an up and coming artist who burst onto the streaming scene in 2020. Her artist name originates from a medieval knigthstale, and is translated from the french word “Blanche flur” which means “white flower”. The Icelandic artist has had a diverse path that led her to the music industry; she acquired a BA Degree in Fashion Design and spent “most of [her] time on the soccer field”.
After feeling the desire to take singing lessons in 2016, Blankiflur inevitably began going to songwriting camps in Iceland and wrote her first single at the beginning of 2018. In that same year, Blankiflur started working with Icelandic producer Stefán Örn at Studio Bambus. With Blankiflur co-producing and Stefán Örn co-writing, the duo have found the perfect balance for producing original music. Although she receives creative inspiration from a number of styles, Blankiflur combines a variety of compositional elements to form her unique sound.
To date, Blankiflur has four singles in her online discography. Some of her most popular tracks include the likes of ‘Runner Up’, amassing five thousand one hundred streams, and ‘Above A Fall’, with almost three thousand two hundred streams. With a growing number of listeners and followers, there is no denying the fact that Blankiflur is developing a dedicated following of loyal fans.

Our featured single, ‘GAME’ by Blankiflur, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! The single is the fourth release from Blankiflur’s upcoming album, ‘Hypnopompic’, which is to be released on the 23rd of April.
‘GAME’ lasts around four minutes and sits at a steady 135bpm. The track was composed with Stefán Örn and Blankiflur wrote the lyrics/melody. A dark synth tone instigates the track and builds a brief sense of anticipation for the vocal. Blankiflur’s vocal color is stylistic and emotive; seamlessly synchronising with the vibe of the instrumental accompaniment.
The layering of multiple backing vocals and the use of a subtle vocoder adds a creative flare and depth to the overall sound without detracting from the prominence of the main melody.
