ABOUT THE ARTIST
Black Note Graffiti is a five piece rock band consisting of Ricardo Ortiz on vocals and guitar, Gabrielle Bryant on vocals, Adam Nine on bass, Kurt Keller on percussion and Kris Keller on guitar and vocals. Throughout the band’s successful career to date, Black Note Graffiti have toured across the US from Hollywood to New York City.

Black Note Graffiti’s latest single, ‘Inch X Inch’ is out now! With the band “entering a new phase [in] their career”, they have teamed up with Grammy Award winning producer Chuck Alkazian to work on their upcoming album ‘Volume 3’, set to be released in the Summer of 2020. Additional creative collaborations include the likes of Vinn-E Dombroski and Al Sutton.
Commencing with an electric guitar riff that lasts around ten seconds, a strong kick is coupled with the main vocal line. The vocal color used by Gabrielle is both clear and powerful, with the utilisation of subtle panned effects creating a unique rock vocal. The track continues to fill out with the addition of various instrumental elements at the 0:22 mark, building the intensity of the single. A partial drop around thirty seconds in, provides space for anticipation that makes the chorus all the more gratifying.
The addition of harmony lines and backing vocals create a fullness to the sound that is fully felt during the chorus. A breakdown section that utilises an ominous piano melody at 2:13 adds just the right amount of diversity to the flow of the rock track without detracting from the overall energy.
