Barnabas Shane - ‘Atlanta’

Atlanta’ by Barnabas Shane is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major platforms!

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Back in 2009, Barnabas Shane was first introduced to the music industry by the house producer from Block Entertainment Badboy, Dee Jay Dana. By 2010, he was producing independent Hip-Hop with community artists, progressing on to complete his first album, ‘Hood Chemistry’, alongside Dee Jay Dana.

After his debut release, and before the passing of his mentor and friend Dee Jay Dana due to a heart attack, Barnabas began promoting his single ‘Back to Jamaica’ by performing across the states throughout 2011 to 2013; including Atlanta, Houston, Alabama and Florida. Between 2014 and 2017, Barnabas Shane was writing for over ten independent Hip-Hop, RnB and Pop artists around the south. During this time, he also set up his YouTube channel.

Barnabas Shane has developed an impressive discography to date on Spotify that commenced in 2016 with the release of his single ‘Atlanta’. Since then, he has released eight singles that include 2019’s ‘No Panties’, ‘Them Birds’, ‘Miami’, ‘Go and Get It’ and ‘Like We’re Dancing’, as well 2020’s ‘Back to Jamaica’, ‘Wildside’ and his most recent release ‘Up and Down’. It’s hard to deny Barnabas Shane’s work ethic given the consistent quantity of material that he has put out over the past year and a half alone.

FEATURED RELEASE

Atlanta’ by Barnabas Shane is OUT NOW and available to stream on all major platforms!

Barnabas wrote an “an anthem for [his] lovely city of Atlanta”, which is our featured track. Referred to as the “New Entertainment Capitol” of the south, Atlanta has previously been associated with the 2001 track ‘Welcome To Atlanta’ by Jermaine Dupri featuring Ludacris. This throwback Hip-Hop anthem praises Dupri and Ludacris's hometown and samples ‘Five Minutes Of Funk’ by Whodini and ‘Do It Baby’ by The Miracles.

Since the release of this single, there hasn’t been another stand-out anthem for Atlanta. As a fully independent, home grown artist, Barnabas Shane aims to update the record with his track ‘Atlanta’ that depicts the “New Atlanta”.

The single sits in at around a steady 146bpm. Commencing with an acoustic guitar, coupled with synth swells, the beat kicks in around thirty seconds in along with the vocal line. Barnabas’ vocal color is clean and soulful, suiting the mood of the track seamlessly. A slight vocal delay adds an ambience to the overall sound. Multiple vocal layers during the chorus create an anthem like flow that makes the listener hum along with the memorable melody.

The official music video for the track follows Barnabas Shane throughout Atlanta, with epic shots of various aspects of the city being featured systematically. Fans of Barnabas Shane, along with those who appreciate smooth, easy to listen to music, will love this track.

In 2020, Barnabas Shane continues to write for independent artists and support the indie part of the local music industry. Make sure you follow Barnabas Shane on all of his social media to keep up to date with upcoming releases!
