ABOUT THE ARTIST
AfriCali are a creative collaborative that were founded by the South African born, California raised, Hip-Hop musician EYEZON.

Our featured single, ‘Daughters of the Sun’ by AfriCali, is out now and available to stream on all major streaming platforms! Sitting at a steady 108bpm, the single starts with a seventeen second instrumental introduction. Initially using solo-percussion, full drums are added around eight seconds in, shortly followed by clean electric guitar and a foundational base. Imitation is used between the bass and the electric guitar (see 1:33) to create a musical effect that adds to the stylistic flow.
The occasional amalgamation of multiple vocalists singing in synchronicity creates an ambient effect that compliments the more prominent elements of instrumentation. The vocal color is clean and strongly emotive, standing out from the artistic addition of various vocal layers (see 1:08). A point of stylistic creativity can be found between 0:53 to 1:02 when the vocal line momentarily drops, allowing the bongos, a heavily delayed electric guitar chord, and what feels like spontaneous vocalisations, to amalgamate into a sound that is unique to AfriCali.
